  5. Standard Treatment 
  6. ‚Ä¢ Supraglottis: External beam radiotherapy alone or supraglottic laryngectomy . There are frequent problems
  7.   with the functioning of the larynx after the latter procedure.
  8. ‚Ä¢ Glottis: Radiotherapy, which provides both cure and good voice quality in most patients. Selected patients
  9.   with small (T1) superficial lesions can have a portion of the vocal cord removed. Partial or sometimes total
  10.   laryngectomy may be done depending on the tumor's location and size. Laser excision is under clinical
  11.   evaluation.
  12. ‚Ä¢ Subglottis: Radiotherapy alone, with surgery used for recurrence .

  14. Five-Year Survival  75 to 95 percent
